When I speak of "Products", I mean the ones being sold in the dealership finance office. Typically on a "Menu" (see my other videos). For example, the Vehicle Service Contract a/k/a "extended warranty", GAP, maintenance plans, dent/ding, paint/interior protection, tire/wheel plans and so on. I have videos on each of these on my channel. Also, you can jump to the 8:18 Mark of this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xicg4_VimTY&t=1s And be sure to check out ALL my videos here: https://www.youtube.com/@AutoFinanceSense/videos
Dealerships now just laugh and won't deal with you. Good video though.
Planning on car shopping in December and have been trying to keep track of my scores. My issue is knowing which ones to keep track of because they’re so many different versions of Fico scores and different versions of the auto score plus you don’t know if they will pull experian Equifax or TransUnion
Go to your bank and get the interest rate and bring it with, the dealer marks up the interest he bets
Good tips
I did #6 after a good nights sleep and they were pissed, they kept saying are you sure you want to do this refund said it like 5 or 6 times said it would take up to 4 to 6 weeks to process this refund/return. I spoke to the GM on the 7th day of the 6th week, cuz the check still wasn’t sent to bank for my refund, and after some more “discussion” he reluctantly agreed to send out the 7k check. Funny thing, the finance manager never once mentioned anything about a 4 to 6 week processing time for refunding of add ons. Hmmm, I wonder why? Sarasota Honda of Sarasota Florida you will never get our business again. We fell for all your tricks. They held us till after 6 PM. We waited for the person ahead of us to finish in the finance office and we did not get out of there until almost 10PM at night dragging ass tired. The whole time he was acting like he was doing us a favor by letting us stay so late, that was all part of his plan. Yes we did get our refund and our monthly payment stayed the same. We learned a lot that night, never again will we buy those overpriced rip off add ons. All you need to do is to go into that office with a mindset already made up for either yes or no and STICK TO IT PERIOD!
IN TORONTO CANADA
Jeep dealerships will sell you a tax un price for a Jeep Rubicon X for a touch over 90k .
BUT then you don't quality for the 8k discount so it's now 100k at 0%
If you buy that Jeep at 4.9% you can buy for 87k with tax
SO YOU realize after interest that 4.9% deal comes to 100k
SEE THEY WIN
JEEP are the biggest crooks of all manufacturers BUT their dealers are worse
Remember this
I was told never to say you're paying cash????
LOL…just say NO and be done with it.
Well done
You are excellent! Thanks!
I say no to EVERYTHING but the straight up price of the car
Looks like it's my turn to face all this. I am woman of 30 years-old yo, looking for a 2018 ford explorer (for what I need) and I feel being a teenager of 15 years-old in front of "I have no experiences" "(¬ . ¬)"
When I was buying a used Corolla I did a test drive, and liked the car. The finance manager came out then and asked to drive my car that I was trading in. I told him of course, but I will need a photo copy of your driver's license. He didn't laugh.
this kind of bs is exactly why I don't ever buy a car from a dealership.
Just bought a pre owned 2019 Honda Accord hybrid cash. Finance manager wanted nothing to do with me. The salesman had me sign the title and initial like 10 others forms and I was gone with my new car.
😂 we just charge you more when you pay cash it’s even on our website You can leave promise we won’t chase you 😂
Buy a car or buy a sailboat? Hmm a sailboat is cheaper requires no fuel and doesn't have to deal with traffic…
I NEVER finance with the dealer. I have always gone to my bank, get told what im approved for, and then go hunting. I love when im told i can get a "better rate" if i go through one of their lenders. Then i hit them with "why would anyone take a second hit to their credit if they were already approved?"
I always turn down the "extra" crap that some dealers say is mandatory. Im like really? You will deny my purchase because of a $399 3 year cleaning contract?
I help my daughter buy a truck last summer and I got her a loan through her credit union beforehand. That really helped and I got 1.5% interest lower out of the dealership.
this is a unique american problem.. in germany 75% of all cars get paid in cash.. or the loan is from their home bank with much better condition that a dealership could ever give.
Car dealer should all them be investigated there are mafia people who got the middle class broken
Great information. Thanks for all the tips! Watching your GAP video next.
It's a game, a dance and it's been the same for decades. A friend of mine bought a car a few months ago, she always claims her credit score is 850, so, she should have gotten herself a really good loan deal. She made the huge mistake of telling the dealer her biggest concern was keeping those monthly payments with in the $400 range. She signed and drove away with the new vehicle. I was curious because, the price of the car she bought with her payments didn't add up right. She thought she had a three-year loan. It turns out she had a 6-year loan at 7%. Add those numbers and the total price of that car was astronomical. I couldn't' understand how someone with a perfect credit score could end up with a 7% loan and now I know why. She very well could have been approved for a 2.9% loan, but the dealership tacked on another 4%+ and just handed her the papers to agree to it. I didn't know they could do that legally, but I guess they all can and they all do, if you agree and sign it, it's on you. I have to be ready next time I go to a dealership. The last one I went to, wouldn't meet the price I wanted so I walked.
She is right just bought a car and I thought the caregaurd was 1999 come to find out it was 5000 added I kept saying something seems to high I figured it out within the 60 days canceled it be careful because it's alot when buying something the financing manager will not explain how much it really adds up to
Tesla does not have dealerships. If I had not gotten a Tesla, I would have gone for a sale by owner simply to get around the BS and very expensive add-ons.
