What's the threshold for confirming demand? E.g.: you create a landing page and 3 people might subscribe but are you gonna say that's a "demand" already? How many users were you anticipating before you call it as: "there is a demand" ?
While I agree with Caya, I know there are so many variables that come to play especially based on where you're from. Also, there's nothing wrong in starting a business because you lost your job. What else should someone who can't find employment do, sit and wait? Impractical!

Amen. I started a business with $20 in my pocket while working in my dayjob. My dayjob was in the same industry and I knew a lot about it. When I got too busy, I left my day job to concentrate on my business. When I got too busy again, I started hiring staff. Two years in and monthly my turnover is roughly 10 – 13k, my turnover last financial year was $150k. It takes a lot of hard work and sacrifice – I am only just starting to pay myself a salary, in fact, my employees get paid better than I do. 9 employees in, everything I get goes back into the business to scale it up. I have only just started and only cover a small area, the goal is to be nation wide, however; I need to develop systems and procedures so we can have a 'cookie cutter' approach to the business so I won't be needed in more than one area. After a while, and a large amount of tuning, hopefully it can run itself.
My BROTHER on the other hand, started a DJ business, but he REFUSES to get a day job because he thinks he will be instantly rich and get plenty of work from the get go. I told him, no, you don't get in business to make money, you get into business to invest in yourself and build your money – it usually takes 2 years to start turning a profit, I am only up to this stage now. I told him to think bigger, to hire employees, train them, so he can cater to more people – appealing to the masses is the best way to scale. 1 person only has 24 hours in the day that they can work. His response to me was: "no, because I wan't all the money" oh dear, maybe one day he will learn.
