The satellite tank-shadow example is a great reason to add a validation layer to this roadmap: every clever alternative dataset needs timestamped availability, survivorship coverage, and a placebo or perturbation test before it becomes a signal. For a portfolio project, showing exactly how a model fails when one assumption shifts is more convincing than a backtest screenshot alone.
