Finance is more practical. Economics is a worthless degree.
I'm a first year financial economics uni student and I absolutely love that my major is hybrid where I get to choose which field to continue after graduation, I'm from Jordan ❤
could you please let me know where you worked for 2 years to get the frm certificate
Hello, I internally transferred from the Bachelor’s program in Business Administration to Economics because I realized it is more promising. How smart is it to complete a Bachelor’s in Economics and then pursue a Master’s in Finance? (For me, the main priority is a high salary.)
Is doing a bba in economics a good idea? I'm really confused.
Help please
Can I do my CFA degree after my major in economics?
For entrepreneurs?
In finance, where students attend school matters. Legacy planning, high school grades, etc., it all comes into play. There is substantial competition to get into target level schools like Harvard or Yale. Ohio state isn't what I'm talking about here. Academically, economics graduates are smarter because of the mathematics involved in the respective course of study. Since fewer people want economics because of mathematics, a more intelligent, better academic will get into a more prestigious school in an economics program. You will have access to the same channels as tier one finance graduates. An economics graduate has far more choice for career paths in comparison to the "dude bro" stigmatized finance graduates.
Hey can i get in touch i really need your help regarding undergrad economics
I need a piece of advice, I'm going to take bsc.economic, is it hard to graduate.
I am still wondering what do economic majors do after getting a master degree, I mean, I like economics more than finance, but I am worried about what job can I do with an economics major
I need advice. I am currently on my last year of bachelor degree in Management (Project management) which I do not find intresting actually. I am interested in both Finance and Economics. Would it make sense to do two master degrees, one in Finance, and second one in Economics? Or should I stick to only one and go to work and forget about the other one?
Overall, did you find tertiary study worth while for these fields? Did you find the content relevent not only to future careers, but knowledge that required a degree and not something you could simply study yourself?
Hey there! MSF here applying. To PhD programs. I have found finance programs are easier unless Boston, NYU, Harvard or other top schools. My target is R1 fully funded and sources from Boston college and others funnel into their professorships, so the program isn’t bad. Econ? I see it as harder to get in. More programs and more competitive (more programs to follow demand – not a function of ease, all PhDs are hard). I was a math and business undergrad, finance grad for background.
you can also do like I did, Major in Eco and minor in finance, but also grab some extra electives in finance.
Financial engineering or Quant Finance?
Thank you 🙏
How do you differentiate an Economics degree from Applied Economics degree
I’m a double degree in Economics and Health Science, and I now work in Healthcare Finance & Data Analysis. Economics is just Philosophical Finance, and Finance is Applied Microeconomics, and that’s how I got to healthcare finance even though I am not a major in finance. What makes healthcare finance interesting is that it has huge job security, because healthcare is recession-resistant, as it is an inelastic demand and always growing + it has better fulfillment, because you get to provide healthcare to people in a non-clinical way.
I'm currently a freshman in high school and I can choose an elective for micro economics or macro economics with some others, and although I have more interest in macro economics currently, I'm considering doing micro economics first because I've heard it'll make grasping macro economics easier.
sir which degree to chose eco and finance combine or normal eco major or finance major…for ug degree like i ike both the fields no problem..and i want a good carrer like which lead a good growth and succes..
Occonell i want yo speak with you because I am interested to study either finance or economics. I am more interested in understanding how yo empower our economy which degree is good for that ?
With a BS Physics, I have been offered MS Information Systems and MS in Applied Financial Economics. Can any sound mind, tell me which one to choose between MS Information Systems and MS Applied Financial Economics in terms of salary, time for my family and employability, even outside the US?
Please give me an answer, I want to become an investment banker(like MD)which degree is best for me?
Hey, I dont know what should I choose: finance and accounting, economics or management. I have read a lot of economics books and I think my knowledge is good, same with understanding financial markets. I am scared that studying finance or economics will be waste of my time therefore I should choose management. I will add that I live in Poland and education here isn't on the highest level. What's your thoughts on that? Thanks
Im gonna enroll in a econ and finance major
