People forget that you need high prices on oil to justify fracking expenses. Oil can't be fracked below $65. With inflation it could actually be higher now.
Can you make a video with an example using your 3 fund portfolio what percentage of each fund would you withdraw each year in retirement? Would you take the dividends from schd and take the remaining percentage you need from the other two funds?

I would love to hear your opinion. From the sector performance you showed (3:45), Trump did very well on health care when he was a president for the first time. However, after Biden became president, the health care system had one of the lowest performances. Now that Trump is again the president, (and the stocks are down), do you think that Health care stocks will go up?
I invest in few of these but my portfolio is still down by approximately 23% and there's no hope in sight. Buying is not even an option. Any recommendations on how to scale up my returns before selling off to draw even will be highly appreciated as I am losing my mind given that my retirement draws nearer.

There is no way following Buffett and doing what he is doing to be successful: he started this out a LONG time ago. The rest of us dont get the discounts he gets when he buys, its totally a different trajectory.
quick question Prof, i know you love SCHD, im wondering how you think it performs in bear markets or how you think it will perform if there is an economic slowdown? compared to let's say, VOO? common 'wisdom' suggests that it also will drop like in parallel to VOO but just not as deep of a drop. is there some other alternative that is anti-correlated (with VOO/S&P) that you could recommend if not SCHD? keeping in mind assuming 'total returns with dividends reinvested' please and thank-you!

I am overweight in SGOV – short term Treasury ETF. Paying 4.5% currently. 19% of my portfolio, though I also count this toward my Cash position, keeping over a year expenses in cash. Was also glad to be in mid-stream pipeline stocks the last year and they have basically gone up 20-30% in 2024. I bought them for dividends, but the upside was a nice suprise.
What about MLP ETFs like MLPX under Trump?

Looking at market trends during Trump’s last presidency is a waste of time. Accounting for COVID and AI, neither of which have anything to do with Trump’s policies, is impossible.
From the chart, it doesn't look like presidents have much of an impact across different sectors according to their ideology or policy… To the contrary: "drill baby drill" will have a negative effect on oil stocks…
