Solid advice for investing wisely!
I am really confused on the resultes that author calculate on the last index fund – FNARX, specifically how it skyrocketed so high at the 30 years mark, can anyone explain why pls? thanks!
Regarding FNARX, what makes you believe the dividend CAGR will continue for 30 years? I would be shocked if energy sector will pay >25% dividend yield ever. On your table, the portfolio shows unbelievable increase in value during the 20 -> 30 years final decade. It’s unbelievable for a reason, IMO. Please explain why/if you have faith in this outcome. Thanks.
Invest $10,000 in each of these 3 Fidelity Index Funds:
FNCMX – FSPGX – FNARX
Thanks for the continuous updates, I started investing stocks with $3,350, and since following you for a few weeks now and I’ve gotten, $14579. It’s a small gain to many but large to me as the more I get, the more I can do by staying consistent

I have been a dividend focused investor for a long time. This does not mean I don't own growth stocks, I do. A well rounded portfolio should be a mixture of both categories. One way to minimize the anxiety out of stock market investing, is to make sure you keep a large cash cushion. I invest in the market, but never put all my money in market.
fncnx has a terrible ter, a ter of 0.29 that is quite high for an index fund. it has about the same growth over the last 5 years as any other s&p 500 etf. (thsi one 13.6%, spy has 12-13.3% (depending on source) which is not surprising given it has basically more or less the same companies. on the other hand it has about half of an ordinary s&p500 divident yield. all in all a inferior product to a normal s&p 500. if you want less risk there are also better etf, than this one. either way, i dont think anyone should invest in this there are better options albeit you have to find them yourself, since this is not financial advise.
also there are better computers to calculate this than the one you use. colatility of the stock is about 18%? if you use a montecarlo methode to caluclate this and also take into account inflation, you land on a number that is much lower, if you take about the median expected outcome. you can go ask claude yourself for the correct calculation and taking these datapoints into account, you can also directly compare to other etf's in that case.
the more relaistic outcome is probably around 50 to 75k on a 20 year investment. but that is assuming 20 really good years since the estimate of 13.5% growth is based on the last 5 years that were unusually good, if we take this into account as well, and assuming the US does nto loose its leadership position in economics. then we look at around 20 to 40k as a final payout after 20 years. still seizable, but we could have at least saved on the ter
Investing sounds way better than a savings account
I'm 58 I have $10,000 what should I invest in to get $2,000 in dividends a month in 10 years
Time to make that money work for me!
Too bad I don’t have that. I can do as much as 5k per year as of now. 😢most of the videos out there are for this that have the capital to invest.
I’m in my early 50s and plan on holding everything I have through retirement. For that r,eason I’m not too concerned about this concentration at the top since I expect to hold through any down turn. While likely not the most optimal strategy, I’m thinking it’s a decent thought, no?
FNARX is a natural‑resources fund with a 0.69% expense ratio, while FSPGX is a large‑cap index fund with a 0.04% expense ratio. That difference matters. High costs and concentrated sectors increase risk, while broad, low‑cost index funds compound quietly and efficiently.
Invest wisely so you don’t lose money unnecessarily. Long‑term wealth is always a risk‑versus‑reward game — more like the tortoise and the hare than a lottery ticket. You don’t become a millionaire overnight. You get there through strategy, discipline, and consistency over many years.
I had continued to use Fidelity after I retired. For three years I only got 4% from my retirement savings. I switched to a different wealth investment company, During the last 4 years I earn 8 to 11 % a year. Much better!
